From time to time we hear about a death within a religious cult, a cult which advocates prayer rather than medical intervention. The prayers fail and the ailing person dies. Sometimes their children die.We call these people mad but in fact they are the ONLY Christians with faith. Apart from those dead people, Christians put their faith in man's medical science rather than trust their "Lord." And it makes perfect sense because despite protestations to the contrary, they know their "Lord" will fail them.
It doesn't matter whether it's the Pope or Mother Teresa — who flew several times to Los Angeles for medical treatment — only one Christian in a million has faith in Jesus. Even snake-handling hillbillies rush to hospital for treatment the moment God fails them and they get bitten.
Apologists argue that God works through scientists and doctors but oh no no no, you can't get away with that one.
Not so very long ago the church was burning witches at the stake for trying to cure illness with potions obtained from nature. Lightning conductors were forbidden for two hundred years until the church finally conceded defeat. Those tall spires were fatally attractive to the lightning god. But for two centuries the church insisted that lightning conductors interfered with God's will. And so did medical science. Leoardo da Vinci was prevented from furthering his biological studies due to the fact he was interfering with the "divine."
And if God works through scientists and doctors, the question is why? Creator of the universe not savvy enough to cure a toothache without man's science? Clearly not, because despite the fact that every Catholic in the world has been praying this past few years for the Pope's recovery his health continues to deteriorate.
Everybody knows that God is powerless to cure disease letalone prevent disease. People still attend Benny Hinn's circus to roll around on the floor and be "cured" of their cancers but only after years of chemo therapy. Prayer is seen as a very last resort, or perhaps as a adjunct to medial science. But very few people indeed have faith enough to trust their lives to God and Jesus.
So when I hear people talk about their "faith in Jesus" I can't help laughing. People who put their faith in Jesus are dead! You and I don't know anyone who has faith in Jesus. It's just something that Christians say to make themselves appear righteous.
Think about it, Jesus had twelve disciples, ALL of whom let him down during his hour of need. These were the people who knew him better than his own family, yet not one of them had sufficient faith in him to stand by him when push came to shove. He had failed to convince even one disciple that a beautiful experience called "heaven" was on the cards.
When the Romans came for Jesus, the disciples did a runner and fled for their lives.
Christians will do anything to stay alive for one more year, or one more month even. They say they believe in heaven yet they'll submit to any pain, sickness and indignity to avoid it. Perhaps it's because they know, deep in their hearts that they aren't going to heaven because heaven is empty!
Adulterers are banned from heaven, Jesus was very clear about that. In the book of Luke Jesus makes adultery the number-one sin, worse even than murder. People who have divorced and remarried are, in most cases, adulterers. Jesus saw to that. Sex before marriage is adultery and fornication — double demerits! Same with any sex outside of marriage.
Men who have looked at a woman with lust in their hearts are destined for the fires of hell. The only way to avoid such a fate is to sever one hand and gouge out one eye, according to Jesus. Rich men have as much chance of entering the kingdom of heaven as a camel has passing through the eye of a needle. Jesus doesn't mention women, perhaps they're in with a chance, but I doubt it. The reason why he didn't mention women was that women were mere chatels, owned by their masters.
So who's left, gay men? Jesus didn't mention homosexuals but he sure hated fornicators. Fornicators will be cast into the everlasting fire. What about women who have never fornicated or committed adultery? How many women, I wonder, are virgins on their wedding night? Those who aren't, and that's most of them, should be dragged to the gates of the city and stoned to death, along with people who work on Saturdays.
So we are left with a tiny pool of virginal and poor women who thus far haven't been condemned to hell. If they're church goers they disobey Jesus by worshiping in public, would that condemn them to hell? Maybe not. Though Jesus forbade public worship he didn't fix a penalty for that offense. Maybe just a flogging or a diet of cows tripe for a thousand years.
But hold on, have they ever blasphemed, or called someone a fool? "Oh my God...." ooops, fires of hell, you blasphemer you. Jesus said that if you call someone a fool you are in danger of hellfire. Not a sure thing mind you, but a pretty safe bet. But not to worry because Jesus was inclined to call anyone who didn't massage his monstrous ego "fools and hypocrites" so chances are Jesus is burning in hell.
So don't worry Christians, you'll be in good company.
Will your faith save you? Apparently not because you don't have any. You're destined to burn in hell along with the rest of mankind. See ya later fornicator!
